Nabil Fekir

According to a report by Daily Express, Manchester United could make an attempt to sign Lyon captain Nabil Fekir this summer. As if the fact that they finished ahead of us in the previous campaign was not bad enough, the report claims that the Red Devils could be lurking for a move.

After wrapping up deals for Fabinho and Naby Keita, the stage was set for Fekir to be the next one to join us. However, a failed medical later, the £53m deal went down the drain. Nevertheless, reports claim the deal could still be open to negotiations.

The midfielder has a flair for creativity and he is rightfully regarded as one of the best midfielders across Europe right now. He played a key role in Lyon’s successes in the Ligue 1 last season but now, our deadliest rivals United might actually get to acquire his services.

For now, Liverpool fans can only hope that Jurgen Klopp pulls off something to ensure Fekir joins us ahead of Manchester United. Despite our brilliant style of play, we failed to finish ahead of Jose Mourinho’s men and we also missed out on winning the Champions League.

To see Fekir joining United would only be a salt-in-the-wound situation. Regardless of who we sign beyond this, Klopp must do everything he can to ensure Fekir does not join the Manchester outfit.

It is unsure as to whether we will make a move for him again this summer but for now, let’s hope he doesn’t do the unthinkable and join United.
