(Pictures) – Keita, Fabinho, Robertson and Lallana all smiles as Reds train for the first time this season

The World Cup might be on at the moment but that has not stopped our Reds from starting their preparations for pre-season and also the upcoming campaign.

Naby Keita, Fabinho and a host of others were at Melwood to take part in the first day of training.

Of course, all eyes would be on the two new signings at the club, Keita and Fabinho, but there is more good news for the Liverpool fans as Mohamed Salah has signed a new long-term deal to stay at Liverpool

.

Jurgen Klopp was present too and he started the day by hugging each player; not a bad start to the day. And there were Danny Ings and Adam Lallana getting ready for some training while Keita was put through the paces.

It was also great to see the likes of Andy Robertson, one of our star performers last campaign, start his preparations for the upcoming season.

We got a glimpse of a player who missed out on the World Cup squad in Joe Gomez, as he was working out. It was all smiles at Melwood as we prepare for a tough campaign coming up.

Our last pre-season was pretty good as we more or less won every game we played and even picked up the Premier League Asia Trophy. If we can repeat such a performance this time around as well, we will have an extra edge going into the season.

Pre-season, however, is all about getting into the right frame of mind and shape and with Klopp bringing his smile and energy into the team, there is no doubt we will be raring to go when the season starts.
