Yerry Mina‘s agent has come out and claimed that there has been no contact made for the Barcelona star from Liverpool or any other club.

Speaking to RAC1 (h/t Metro), Jair Mina also added that the player wants to stay at Barcelona with whom he has a contract.

“I’m not aware of any bids,

“The player has a contract with Barcelona and wants to stay at Barcelona. We’re going to see what the situation is with the club, but we don’t have any information [regarding a move].”

The Colombian was one of the stars for the Colombian side in the World Cup and he scored three goals for the South Americans.

Mina’s team were knocked out of the competition by England on penalties and he has been a hot target in the transfer window since then.

The 23-year-old had only signed for Barcelona last season but got to play in six games for the Catalan club.

Even with the lack of playing time last season, his agent was quick to add that Barca are a huge club and that Mina will eventually receive more playing time at the Nou Camp.

There is no doubting that Mina does have a bright future and it makes sense for a South American to stay put at Barcelona.

Mina could have been a decent option for cover next season and a loan deal would have been ideal. However, it would be tough for the Colombian to play regularly for us. To that end, maybe staying back at Barca will provide him with more chances.
