Liverpool could be set to name their newest signing of the season as the Daily Mail reports that a deal for Xherdan Shaqiri has been struck with Stoke City.
The Swiss attacker had earlier stated that he would be returning to the Premier League after relegation with Stoke last season. The Reds would have to pay £13.75m for the 26-year-old and a medical is expected on Friday.
Shaqiri would provide us with quality cover for the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, while he can also play as an attacking midfielder. The 26-year-old could also be a part of the team that takes part in the US pre-season games.
Shaqiri coming to Liverpool would be a great bit of business given his price-tag and his ability. A number of Liverpool fans were ecstatic on Twitter that the Swiss star would be a Red soon.
£13m for Shaqiri is very good bit of business. Gives us good depth, 26 yrs of age, he’ll do much better under Klopp. #LFC

I’m fully on-board with the Shaqiri signing.
Doesn’t look as nailed on as Mane 2016 but still a good profile and fit. #lfc— Dan Kennett (@DanKennett) July 12, 2018
I doubt Shaqiri thinks he’s coming to Liverpool to sit on the bench. Klopp will give him every opportunity.

What should the new chant for Xherdan Shaqiri be? I Personally like the “Xherdan, Xherdan Shaqiri runs down the wing for me” #LFC

When #LFC sign Shaqiri it will be the first time we can say with certainty that our new signing can do it on a cold and windy night in Stoke!

Shaqiri has a bit of needle about him and that makes him worth £40M alone

If Xherdan Shaqiri becomes a Liverpool player in the coming days I’ll be one happy Red! Absolute class player to add to our depth for around £13m you can’t go wrong! #LFC ⚽❤
