Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Liverpool’s quartet from the World Cup semi-finals will return after a three-week break on 5 August.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson, Dejan Lovren and Simon Mignolet are set to return to the club seven days before our first game, which is against West Ham United.

Klopp was quoted by the Liverpool website as saying:

“They are back as well at August 5, I think, then we have proper week to prepare the season.”

Henderson and Alexander-Arnold’s England lost to Simon Mignolet’s Belgium in the third-place match while Dejan Lovren could not get one over on France as Croatia lost the final 4-2 on Sunday.

The quartet will get a much-deserved break after a long season which also saw us make it to the Champions League final.

It will be interesting to see if any of the four will be ready to take part in the first clash against the Hammers as they would not have had a lot of time to prepare and get into shape like the rest of the players.

Most of the Liverpool players are set to travel for the US tour, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Marko Grujic, Sadio Mane and even new signing Xherdan Shaqiri making the trip.

The first game of the season will be a tough one with West Ham having made a number of changes to the side and even if we have one or two players missing, we can expect to win the game easily.
