Real Madrid are willing to sell Luka Modric, with Liverpool registering an interest in the 32-year-old, according to Diario Gol (h/t Daily Star).
Modric led Croatia to the World Cup final where they lost to France 4-2 and the Madrid star was adjudged the Golden Ball winner after the tournament ended.
The report claims that Real are concerned about Modric’s age and are willing to let him go while he still has some value in the market.
The Croatian helped the club to a third Champions League title in a row last season. Interestingly, he has prior Premier League experience, having played for Tottenham almost six years ago.
We must challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season and to that end, signing Modric would be a step in the right direction.
He is a classy player and would be a great addition to Liverpool. However, Real will demand an exorbitant price for the 32-year-old after his exploits at the World Cup.
We have already signed the likes of Fabinho and Naby Keita and have a number of midfield options with Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum, Adam Lallana, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the mix.
Modric could function alongside either Fabinho or Keita and play the deep creator’s role but what we need is someone at the tip of the midfield.

The Croatian could be a luxury signing for us. That said, we must not simply force him into the side since a player of his calibre is capable of a lot more.
