Jurgen Klopp

Former Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre has claimed that Jurgen Klopp has the DNA of a Liverpool manager and that trophies will come to Anfield under the German soon.

“If you wrote what the DNA of a Liverpool manager might look like, Jurgen would be it”, Ayre was quoted by the BBC,

Ayre was a part of the management team that brought Klopp to Anfield to replace Brendan Rodgers and the former chief executive claimed that the German has not had luck in previous years.

“I have no doubt be will bring real success, in terms of trophies and championships, to Liverpool sometime soon.”

Ayre also added that there still has been a lot of progress under the German manager despite the club has not won any trophies under Klopp.

“Success can be measured in different ways. Of course, it is a football club and I am a Liverpool supporter. Winning trophies is what we all want.

“But you can’t underestimate the importance of progress and nobody can question Jurgen has made progress in his time at Liverpool.”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp

Klopp has led us to three major finals in his time at Liverpool but we have lost each one of them, the last one being more painful as Real Madrid beat us 3-1 in the Champions League final.

We still have managed to get back into the Champions League in the last two seasons but have just lacked that extra bit to claim a trophy.

However, we have signed a number of players this season to improve our squad and with more players possibly coming into the club, there is a real chance of Klopp breaking his duck and penning his own story at Anfield.
