Liverpool have signed Alisson from AS Roma and the Guardian reports that the fee for the 25-year-old would be a world record of £66.9m
.The 25-year-old had been linked with a move away from Roma for a while after his stellar performances for the Serie A club last season.
The Brazilian should be taking over from Loris Karius once he returns from his holidays and this will come as huge news for Liverpool fans. The only position which seemed weak before the season was the goalkeeping spot but FSG and Jurgen Klopp seem to have sorted that out as well.
The former AS Roma man is our fourth signing of the summer and he was ecstatic to join us.
“I’m really happy, it’s a dream come true to wear such a prestigious shirt for a club of this size that is used to always winning. In terms of my life and my career it’s a huge step for me being part of this club and this family. You can be certain that I’ll give my all”, said Alisson on Liverpool’s site.
The Brazilian also added that he has spoken to Roberto Firmino about the city and club and the striker only had good things to say about Liverpool.
Alisson also stated that he had been in contact with Mohamed Salah when the negotiations were in an advanced stage and that he has even admired Klopp’s style since his days at Dortmund.
All in all, this has been a fantastic pre-season for us in terms of transfers and the Liverpool fans certainly went crazy on Twitter with this latest acquisition.
