Liverpool have made their fourth signing of the season in Alisson and if he passes his medical, we will have broken the record for the most expensive keeper in the world.

However, Jurgen Klopp believes that the players at Liverpool will not fear the added competition for places this season.

We have already bought the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, Naby Keita and Fabinho, and Klopp was quoted by Sky Sports as saying,

“The team and squad are in a really good moment. We had the situation where we had 12 [senior] players [fit] – they know we need the depth in the squad. It is not like they say, ‘Bring in another midfielder? Why? We are all still here’.

“They know we need the quality and they know that if we win something here then we will win it with 25 players.”

Klopp also added that this could be our first season where we don’t end up selling an important player and that might come as huge relief for Liverpool fans.

The additional quality players coming in will not only provide us with quality backup and depth but will certainly increase the competition for places in the side.

There have been times in the past where players might have been a little complacent about their place in the squad but with a number of signings done already and more possibly coming in, Klopp seems to be getting the club into shape for a real Premier League challenge and more.
