Divock Origi gave Liverpool the lead

Watford are interested in signing Liverpool striker Divock Origi as Jurgen Klopp sees the Belgian striker as surplus to requirements at Anfield according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Belgian spent last season on loan at Wolfsburg where he scored just 6 goals in all competitions and the German manager wants the £26million-rated striker to leave on a permanent deal.

Even though Watford made a fortune by selling Richarlison to Everton, the Premier League club is looking to sign Origi on a loan deal and not on a permanent basis.

That would be a bit of a blow for us as Klopp wants the Belgian to leave the side permanently. The German has earmarked Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke as options for the side this season but the chances of Origi playing in the first-team looks low.

The Belgian did have a bright start to his career at Anfield but all that has faded now. The 23-year-old was one of the highly rated Belgians from the 2014 World cup but things have not gone his way and a move away from the Reds is the best option for all parties.

Liverpool have Roberto Firmino, who seems to be perfect for our attack, and with Sturridge looking a handful and fit, we have quality cover for our Brazilian star.

Origi did give us more physicality in the final third but his time seems to be up at Anfield and the quicker we can wrap this up, the better it would be for all parties involved.
