AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci is reportedly willing to leave the club just one season after joining from Juventus and former Liverpool player Steve Nicol has urged us to sign the Italian.
Liverpool have signed four players in the summer but none of them is a defender and Nicol was asked if the Italian would be a good option to partner Virgil van Dijk.
The former Liverpool man was quoted by the Express as saying:
“Absolutely.
“Well I’m not in charge. Absolutely yeah, why wouldn’t you?
“Unfortunately I’m not in charge, or I would (try and sign him).”
While Bonucci is one of the best in the world, we already are stacked with options at the back. Joel Matip, Ragnar Klavan and Dejan Lovren can play that role while Klopp recently added that Joe Gomez would also get to play a number of games as a central defender.
Bonucci’s age is also a factor and AC Milan would not sell him on the cheap either. The Italian would have been a great signing for us, only if we did not have van Dijk in the team.
The former Juventus man reportedly wants a return to the Turin club and that would be the best deal for him and Milan, should they want to sell him.

If we are to make a move in the summer window, we sign another attacking midfielder. The rest of the side seems pretty set as the season begins in less than two weeks.
