Liverpool could do a deal for Christian Pulisic similar to the one we did for Naby Keita, according to German football expert Raphael Honigstein.
The American winger has been linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund after it was suggested that the club would sell him if Pulisic does not sign a new deal.
His current deal with the Bundesliga giants expires in 2020 and Honigstein believes Pulisic could be sold in 2019 if things don’t change. The expert was speaking to ESPN FC (h/t Liverpool Echo) and said:
“That puts it into an interesting context because if you know there’s a club now, you wouldn’t force a deal through this summer, you could say ‘how about next summer?’.
“I think Liverpool, who have been very smart in recent years, could do almost ‘a Keita’ and say, you know what, next summer, Dortmund have to sell you. Why don’t you come to us then?”
The German also added that even though making the deal now was not legal, such incidents do take place in football.
The 19-year-old is an incredible talent and if we can sign him this season, akin to the Naby Keita deal, it would be another fantastic piece of business by the side.

Liverpool have always done smart business under Klopp and Pulisic could easily turn out to be one of the best buys under the German’s tenure. He would not come on the cheap but you have to fight it out when you want to sign the best players.
