Everton completed a £18m move for Lucas Digne earlier this week, as reported by the Liverpool Echo. However, the French left-back has now revealed that he had rejected two moves to Liverpool before joining the Toffees.
The 25-year-old joined Marco Silva’s side from Barcelona and even had the words “I never walk alone” across his chest.
However, Digne told the Liverpool Echo that the tattoo has nothing to do with football but it was something that his parents gave him which had these words.
“When I go for my first day at school when I was three or four years old they gave me a necklace with these words on.”
Digne did reveal that he was 18 when he got the tattoo and also added that the Liverpool fans might be upset because he turned us down.
“After when I was 18-years-old in Lille I got a tattoo and maybe the Liverpool fans are angry because I said, two times, ‘no’ to sign for Liverpool.
“Two times, the first after Lille when I went to Paris and the second time was after Rome. I said two times ‘no’ because I am a Blue.”

The 25-year-old will hope to perform when the Merseyside derby takes place this season. There will be a lot of expectations from both sides, as Silva has strengthened the Everton side with a few quality signings and Liverpool have done the same under Jurgen Klopp.
Digne joining Everton is not a problem for us we have enough quality in the left-back department. Andy Robertson has been terrific since arriving at Anfield and this news is not something for the Liverpool fans to regret I reckon.
