Liverpool midfielder Fabinho could be a doubt for the first game of the season as the Daily Star reports that the Brazilian has a slight muscle problem.
The midfielder played in the 3-1 win over Torino but injured himself during that game, as per the Daily Star. The report also adds that the midfielder left our training ground in Melwood along with doctor Andrew Massey to run a few tests on the leg.
Fabinho joined us in the summer and is one of the four new players to have arrived at Anfield this summer.
The former Monaco man’s injury issues could see Jordan Henderson get a starting berth in the Liverpool side to face the Hammers on Sunday, according to the report. The Englishman came on as a substitute against Torino.
The Liverpool captain joined the side only last Sunday, taking an extended break post the World Cup where England came fourth.
Klopp had also spoken out about Fabinho “struggling” as he did not have a great pre-season. The Brazilian might need some more time to acclimatise to the manager’s demands.
We have seen Klopp slowly integrate players into the team, like how Andrew Robertson was eased into the scheme of things last season. That could be the route taken by the German with Fabinho too.
