Liverpool seem to have done great business in the off-season with signings such as Alisson, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Fabinho joining the Reds.

However, there have been a number of big name signings in the Premier League this season with Jorginho joining Chelsea and even Kepa Arrizabalaga arriving in the Premier League for huge sums.

The Soccer Saturday Pundits were giving their verdict on the best signing of the summer and three of the four pundits had Liverpool players as their choices.

Former Liverpool star Phil Thompson had Alisson as his best signing and another pundit Charlie Nicholson too had the same opinion.

Former Southampton striker Matt Le Tissier named Naby Keita as his choice for the best signing and they all had some great words for the Liverpool new boys.

Thompson was quoted by Sky Sports as saying:

“Liverpool had to complete the jigsaw by signing a top goalkeeper. I think that he could make the difference between competing for the top four and the title.”

Le Tissier did have words of praise for Kepa Arrizabalaga but he claimed that Keita was the best signing of the summer.

“They’ve got a player who is already very good but looks like he could really improve on his stats for last season and end up with double figures for goals and assists.”

Nicholson believes that City are still the strongest in the league but Alisson could be the one to win us the league.

“If he is better than Ederson then he could be the signing who wins Liverpool the title this season, while I also like the quality and energy Keita brings to their midfield.”

Keita and Alisson could be two of the stars this season and if the pundits are right, we just might celebrate the long-awaited league title at the end of the season.
