Liverpool looking to complete another Keita-like signing with a pre-contract agreement

Adrien Rabiot is being linked with a move to Liverpool, according to L’Equipe (h/t Liverpool Echo).

The report claims that Liverpool are on “alert” as the French midfielder will be able to sign pre-contracts in January as his deal with Paris Saint-Germain will end next season.

We could snap him up just like Naby Keita. After all, the player had signed a pre-contract last summer itself but officially joined us this year.

A deep-lying midfielder by trade, Rabiot played 41 games for the French giants in the Champions League and Ligue 1 last season.

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel was also quoted by Liverpool Echo while being unsure as to what the future holds for the 23-year-old midfielder.

“It’s not certain if Adrien stays at PSG. It all depends on him.

“For me he’s a great player. He can grow even more and become a top player.”

The Liverpool Echo goes on to claim that the 23-year-old is “fond” of Liverpool and even wants to play in the Premier League.

There is competition for the French midfielder as Barcelona are also interested in Rabiot and are contemplating a move for the PSG man this summer (h/t Liverpool Echo).

Liverpool are stocked pretty well when it comes to the midfield with the likes of Fabinho and Naby Keita in the mix.

We also have Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum as our other options but Rabiot is someone who could do a great job for any club in Europe.

The 23-year-old has a lot of potential and if Jurgen Klopp manages to sign him on a free, he would certainly increase the quality of competition for the midfield spots at Liverpool.
