Liverpool handed financial boost, thanks to Celtic’s exit from Champions League

Celtic’s exit from the Champions League qualifiers is good news for Liverpool, as per Mirror journalist Mo Chatra.

The journalist claimed that the TV pool money for the British clubs from the Champions League would now be split by four clubs and not five.

Chatra further clarified to a user that the TV deal for the Champions League was for Britain and the money is split between England and Scotland.

Celtic lost 2-1 to AEK Athens in the second leg of their qualifier and went out 3-2 on aggregate. Hoops’ loss confirms that only four Premier League clubs would be taking part in the Champions League amongst the Scottish and English teams.

Liverpool reached the final of the competition last season and should be targeting a similar run this season as well.
