Liverpool striker Divock Origi is a target for Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Belgian striker is below Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke in the pecking order as per the report and had attracted interest from Valencia too. The report adds that Liverpool want £27million for the Belgian striker.

Origi is expected to leave the club this month and the report adds that the player had rejected a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The newly-promoted side wanted to pay £22million plus add-ons for the 23-year-old.

The youngster spent last season on loan at Wolfsburg and scored seven goals from 36 appearances for the Bundesliga side.

The report adds that Jurgen Klopp’s former employers have not made a bid for the player but they are desperate to bring a striker to the club.

Divock Origi gave Liverpool the lead

Dortmund manager Lucien Favre had Michy Batshuayi at the club last season on loan but the Chelsea striker joined Valencia on a loan deal this season.

Origi has struggled to perform since picking up an injury during our run to the Europa League final in 2016. The 23-year-old joined the Reds from Lille in 2014 and has scored 21 goals from 77 games for us.

He could be a great player for the Reds if he stays but he has not yet fulfilled his potential. A move to the Bundesliga could work out for the Belgian and would revive his career too.

With the transfer window closing on 31st August, it will be interesting to see if any club meets our valuation of Origi.
