James Milner scored the first goal in our 2-0 win over Crystal Palace and the Englishman broke a record too.

The midfielder converted a penalty at the end of the first half to give us the lead. Milner has been one of the most consistent penalty takers for the Reds in recent years and Opta Joe claimed the Englishman had broken a record at Selhurst Park.

The win over the Eagles was not confirmed until Sadio Mane scored late in the second half. The Senegal star was put through on goal by Mohamed Salah and he rounded the keeper to slot into an empty net.

Liverpool were made to work hard for the three points, however, the Reds have never lost when Milner has scored, according to Bleacher Report.

A tweet highlighted that the Englishman had never lost a Premier League game where he found the back of the net.

The tweet featured Milner wearing the Aston Villa and Manchester City jersey too. The 32-year-old spent time with the Villans and Cityzens before joining the Reds and his form has been excellent since pre-season.

Milner was incredible in our 4-0 win over West Ham and he had a good game against Palace too. The 32-year-old seems to be performing to his best ability under Jurgen Klopp and will look to do the same in our next fixture.

The Englishman’s age isn’t catching up with him and if he continues performing at this level, we could benefit a lot from it.
