Liverpool winger Sadio Mane is a top Premier League player but he doesn’t realise just how good he is, claims former player turned pundit Paul Mariner.

Speaking on ESPN’s Extra-Time Show, Mariner was asked to rate Sadio Mane amongst Premier League’s best players, to which he said:

“Mane is the type of player you pay money to watch.” (h/t the Express)

“I would pay to watch Mane play, particularly with the relationship he has as well with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

“They didn’t play particularly well against Crystal Palace, but they still have incredible talent.

“I’m not sure Mane realises how good he actually is! He is a fantastic player.”

Liverpool have made a perfect start to the 2018/19 campaign with two wins from two, with Mane playing a pivotal role. The Senegalese star has started the new season in blistering fashion, grabbing three goals from his first two league games.

Having started his third year at Anfield with three goals in two appearances, there is a growing feeling that now is the time for Mane to truly prove his credentials to our manager.

Mane has been an important part of a deadly attacking trio and everybody knows how good he is, but the Sedhiou-born speedster was overshadowed by Mohamed Salah last season and was often left in the background. All that could change this year if Mane realises his true potential and consistently delivers the goods at Anfield.

Mane is a valuable asset and a popular figure amongst our fans, but he should bring consistency to his game this season and that would make him grab all the headlines.
