Gomez and Wijnaldum to keep their places: Predicted Liverpool XI for the clash against Brighton

Liverpool continue their Premier League campaign with a clash against Brighton & Hove Albion. The Reds battled hard for three points in the last game against Crystal Palace and it will be difficult against the Seagulls too.

Brighton come into the game on the back of an impressive 3-2 win over Manchester United but the Reds have been great in the opening two games of the season.

Jurgen Klopp didn’t make any changes to the line-up for the second game of the season and here is my predicted XI for the clash at Anfield.

Predicted Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Alisson Becker (GK)

The Brazilian had to be at his best against Palace and will look to continue his brilliant start to the season by keeping another clean sheet.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

Alexander-Arnold has become our No.1 right-back and the youngster should keep Nathaniel Clyne out of the starting XI for the match against Brighton.

Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

The Dutch defender was incredible in our last game as he handled Christian Benteke quite easily. Van Dijk will be important for the entire campaign as we look to keep things tight at the back.

Joe Gomez (CB)

Gomez has been another impressive performer in the early part of the season and the young Englishman should retain his spot against Brighton.

Andy Robertson (LB)

Robertson should start in the game against Brighton and his crosses will be crucial in breaking down the opposition’s defence.

James Milner

James Milner (CM)

The Englishman has been incredible for us so far this season and he dispatched a crucial penalty in our 2-0 win against Palace. The former Manchester City man should captain the side as well.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

The Dutch midfielder is another player who is revelling in his position and even if Jordan Henderson is fit, Wijnaldum should get the start against Brighton.

Naby Keita (CM)

Keita looks like a player that has been a Red for a number of years. The Guinean has looked in great touch so far and we might see more magic from the midfielder on Saturday.

Sadio Mane (LW)

Mane has started the season on fire with three goals from two games. The Senegal international will be our main threat as we look to make it three wins out of three.

Roberto Firmino (ST)

Firmino hasn’t scored so far this season but he is one of the most hardworking players in the league and there is no reason to drop him.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

Salah didn’t score in our win over Palace but he was instrumental in both goals. The Egyptian won a penalty and assisted Mane for the second goal against the Eagles. It would be a major surprise if he does not keep his spot in the team.
