Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has suffered another injury blow to his career at Anfield. The former Southampton man, who currently earns £65,000-a-week, was with the England national side during the international break but the Telegraph reports that Lallana has suffered a groin injury.

The 30-year-old was barely fit last season, as he only played 12 Premier League games for us with just one start to his name.

The Englishman did regain fitness towards the end of the season but he was not selected for the final squad to participate in the World Cup.

Lallana has only played three minutes in our Premier League campaign this season and the injury does provide Gareth Southgate with a problem as Raheem Sterling has also withdrawn from the side, as per the report.

There was some good news for the Reds though as Dominic Solanke was promoted to make up the numbers in training, as per the Telegraph.

However, the news of Lallana’s injury will be a concern given his record from last season. His place in the starting XI  isn’t assured and the former Saints man has a lot of competition ahead of him this season.

The Reds bolstered their side with a number of signings and with no players leaving, it was already difficult for Lallana to start games for us.

Hopefully, the injury is a minor one and with him returning to Liverpool now, our medical team must work on him and ensure his recovery is a quick one.
