Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson believes Joe Gomez can improve a lot more as the pair get set to feature in the England squad for the upcoming international break.
Gomez has started all of our clashes this season and put in a clinical display against Leicester City. The 21-year-old has been brilliant alongside Virgil van Dijk and Henderson believes the central defender can get better.
The captain was quoted by Sky Sports as saying:
“He’s already very good but he can be even better.
“He’s still very young. He’s still improving, still learning and there’s no better place to do that than at Liverpool with the players that he’s got around him and the manager.
“I’m excited for him because I know how good he can be and he’s got the right mentality as well. He’s very mature for his age. His feet are firmly on the ground and he can be as good as he wants to be.”
Gomez missed the end of last season as he underwent surgery. The Englishman could have been part of the World Cup squad but he has come back stronger and better than ever.
Liverpool have conceded just one goal this season and our defence has never looked better under Jurgen Klopp.

Gomez’s form has even kept out the more experienced Joel Matip from the side. It will be interesting to see what happens once Dejan Lovren recovers from his injury. The 21-year-old has a lot of potential in him and he could become one of the best in the world, provided he keeps playing at this level.
