Liverpool have claimed that Adam Lallana will return to full fitness later this month, as per the Evening Standard.
The 30-year-old had to withdraw from the England squad for the international break with a groin injury. However, the report adds that Lallana only suffered a minor groin strain while training with the side on Tuesday.
Lallana expects to take part in our Champions League run that begins in September and was speaking to the Liverpool site (h/t Evening Standard
):“I’m pleased I’ll be back available for Liverpool, both domestically and in the Champions League during September, and then England again for the next break.
“It’s a minor setback, which isn’t ideal, as I’ve been in great shape until now but it’s positive news that it’s only a brief lay-off.”
Lallana’s previous campaign was disrupted with injuries as he only started one Premier League game for the Reds.
The 30-year-old has played three minutes for Jurgen Klopp
this season but believed he could contribute to the side, given the length of the season. The Englishman isn’t a starter for Liverpool at the moment but he will be required once we start playing midweek games.
