Mane leads the Premier League scoring charts with four goals, alongside Aleksandar Mitrovic, but the former Saint believes his teammates’ contributions have played a major role in strengthening Liverpool.
Speaking to Bleacher Report, the Senegal international said:
“Lots of people like to talk about me and Salah. It’s nice to hear those things, but the strength of this Liverpool team is the collective.
“You also can’t forget that there’s a guy up front called Firmino who works like an animal for us and makes things easier. And the guys behind us do some extraordinary work. We try to benefit from that and help the team go forward.”
Firmino hasn’t had a great start when it comes to scoring goals. In fact, he only has one to his name so far. However, the Brazilian does put in a quality shift on the pitch.
The Brazilian scored 15 times for us in the league last season but his game isn’t only about the goals and assists.
His runs create spaces for our forwards and he is a thorn for any defence to deal with.
Mane is right in praising Firmino as he often is left out when talking about quality strikers in the Premier League. His game is different when compared to the likes of Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero but the Brazilian is as important to our team as any player at Anfield.
Liverpool star’s £4.5m-per-year demand could be a problem as two Serie A clubs are interested
Latest Liverpool transfer news: Dejan Lovren’s salary is a problem for Serie A clubs
CalcioNapoli24 (h/t Daily Star) claims that Napoli are interested in the services of Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren. The report claims that AC Milan and Napoli are offering Lovren the chance of regular football.
The Croatian fell down the pecking order at Liverpool last season, with Joe Gomez and Joel Matip preferred to partner Virgil van Dijk.
The 29-year-old Lovren started 11 Premier League games and did a decent job throughout the campaign, however, the lack of games has left Lovren considering his future, according to the report.
Napoli can offer Champions League football for the centre-back while AC Milan will participate in the Europa League next season.
Milan News (h/t Daily Star) adds that Lovren’s representatives were in Milan to discuss a possible move to the San Siro. The report claims that Lovren is interested in playing for the Milan giants and a deal worth £25m is being discussed.
Klopp would have to enter the market to replace Lovren
Lovren has been a quality member of the side and has always given it his all. Should he decide to leave for regular football, we have to sign a replacement. Liverpool had some defensive headaches, with fractures for Matip and Gomez last season, while Lovren also suffered a few injuries.

The Reds cannot go into the season with only three senior centre-backs, and it will be interesting to see what actions are taken regarding Lovren in the summer.
Dutch giants set £30m price-tag for 26-year-old sensation amidst Liverpool interest
Liverpool FC transfer news: Ajax want £30m for Hakim Ziyech amidst Liverpool interest
The Moroccan international was one of their best performers in an incredible campaign as they reached the Champions League semi-final.
Serie A side AS Roma have already bid for the 26-year-old while there is interest in Ziyech from Germany and Spain (h/t Mirror).
Marc Overmars, Ajax’s director of football, added that Ziyech would leave in the summer, but the report claims that the Moroccan isn’t keen on any of the bids that the Dutch giants have received.
The 26-year-old scored 19 goals and provided 16 assists for Ajax last season. Ziyech can play in several positions but his best performances came when he was deployed as a winger.
Liverpool could do with a versatile attacker
Ajax’s asking price isn’t too high given the performances of Ziyech last season, and he would make an excellent signing for the Reds. The Moroccan can provide cover for several positions and can take up the role of an attacking midfielder under Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool have a great team at the moment and a few quality additions could improve us further.

Ziyech would not be a starter for the Reds, but he could be a game-changer off the bench in some of the tighter clashes.
“Enjoy your break”, “We love you”: Several Liverpool fans shower praises on star man after a touchy end of season message
Latest Liverpool news: Virgil van Dijk posts incredible message as he plans for next season
Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk capped off a brilliant season by winning the Champions League. The Dutch superstar did suffer heartbreak in the competition last season as we were beaten by Real Madrid.
The Reds were excellent in the Premier League too but missed out on the title by one point. Van Dijk was in the middle of all good things for the Reds as he helped us to the best defensive record in the league.
The 27-year-old also led the Netherlands to the Nations League final but lost to Portugal. Van Dijk posted an emotional message regarding the season where he claimed that winning the Champions League was a dream.
The Liverpool centre-back added that he is looking forward to more success with club and country, and thanked the fans for their support.

Van Dijk turns Liverpool around
The Dutch defender has been one of the best signings we have made in the Premier League era. His presence at the back has transformed our defence and the defender barely seems ruffled when the opposition attack.
Liverpool did not have a great defence during the first two years of Jurgen Klopp’s tenure but Van Dijk has made us incredibly difficult to break down.
The Dutchman doesn’t make mistakes at the back too, and he should be set for several great years at Anfield. As the defender goes away on a break, many Liverpool fans shared their love for the 27-year-old on Twitter.
