The fall-out from our 2-1 win over Tottenham continues as the Official Liverpool Supporters Club of Egypt have come out in support of Sadio Mane.

The Daily Star reports that some Egyptians fans were upset at Mane having a pop at the goal rather than passing to Mohamed Salah at Wembley.

Although we ran out winners last weekend, the report adds that a number of fans posted abusive comments on an image shared by Mane on Instagram.

Mane then deleted the image and Khalid Yousif, the president of the supporters club, was quoted by the Liverpool Echo (h/t Daily Star) saying:

“They are horrible, horrible comments.

“It’s disgraceful and it doesn’t represent our Egyptian fans.

“We and the supporters’ club in Egypt made an appreciation post for him.

“We sent him a lot of messages on his Facebook account and we made a post for him.”

The president added that they love Mane even though Salah is the “Egyptian King”.

“The people were very supportive to him, it’s a great touch. We love you Sadio, we don’t care about the abuse.

“Yes we love Mo, the Egyptian king. He is our superstar, our hero here in Egypt.

Yousif ended by claiming that he couldn’t imagine a Liverpool team without Mane. The Reds continued their winning run as they beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League too.

There is little time for Liverpool to relax as we play Southampton in the Premier League next. We expect the Reds to come out on top and it will be interesting to see how Salah and Mane play with each other after our heroics against PSG on Tuesday night.
