Fabinho and Mignolet to start: Predicted Liverpool line-up against Chelsea in Carabao Cup

Liverpool face Chelsea back-to-back with our first clash coming in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

The Reds have won all their games this season and looked comfortable against Southampton on Saturday.

The game against Chelsea on Saturday could be a real test for our title ambitions but this league cup clash should see both teams resting their players.

Jurgen Klopp hasn’t made a lot of changes in a winning formula so far but we should see a number of squad players making appearances against the Blues on Wednesday.

Liverpool need to keep the momentum going and here is out predicted line-up against the Blues.

Predicted Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Simon Mignolet (GK)

The Belgian hasn’t played a single game for us so far but this will be a chance for the former Sunderland keeper to star between the sticks.

Nathaniel Clyne (RB)

Trent Alexander-Arnold has kept Nathaniel Clyne out of the starting XI but the former Saint should get a start at Anfield on Wednesday.

Joel Matip (CB)

The central-defender scored in the win over Southampton and should continue as we must rest Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk.

Nathaniel Phillips (CB)

Phillips impressed during pre-season and the youngster should receive a start in this clash against the Blues.

Alberto Moreno (LB)

Andy Robertson has been excellent throughout the season but the Scot needs rest and Alberto Moreno should start on Wednesday.

Jordan Henderson (CM)

Henderson was excellent in the win over the Saints and his passing will be crucial in the game against Chelsea.

Fabinho (CM)

The Brazilian hasn’t started a game for us this season but the clash against the Blues is the perfect opportunity to get some minutes under the belt.

Naby Keita (CM)

The Guinean got 20 minutes against the Saints but should start against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Xherdan Shaqiri (RW)

Shaqiri was the best player against Southampton but only got 45 minutes, meaning he should start on the wing for the Reds on Wednesday.

Daniel Sturridge (ST)

Sturridge got a goal in the win over PSG but didn’t start against Southampton. The Englishman would be facing his former side and must do a great job.

Dominic Solanke (LW)

Solanke hasn’t played any football this season but could get a run out as Klopp must save the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
