Former Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes has been at the end of several spankings from Liverpool during his managerial time.

The Scot had a horrible time at United and recently claimed that the current Liverpool team isn’t as good as the ones that he faced.

The Reds have started the season with seven wins in all competitions, which is a record, and have looked great without even playing their best football.

We have wins over PSG and Tottenham to speak about while the club have kept four clean sheets this season.

Moyes was speaking on Sky Sports’ Goals on Sunday (h/t Mirror) and said:

“I think they’ve got a really good team but I look back at the Liverpool teams I’ve played against over the years and they had great teams.

“When it was Alonso and Mascherano and Gerrard with Torres up front, just the boys they had – Liverpool had great teams.

“This is a good Liverpool team as well but I don’t know if it is quite as good as that team at that time but I think they are playing with a good style – they’ve got forward players who are exceptional and that makes them a real threat.”

The team that Moyes was speaking about mostly was under Rafa Benitez and even though we came close to winning the title under the Spaniard, some Reds fans blasted the Scot for his comments
