Jurgen Klopp & Xherdan Shaqiri

Liverpool lost their first game of the season and emotions were high as Jurgen Klopp was seen speaking aggressively to Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Swiss attacker was the best player on a disappointing night for the Reds in the Carabao Cup. Eden Hazard scored the winner after Emerson Palmieri cancelled Daniel Sturridge’s opener at Anfield.

The Reds had chances to score more goals after we took the lead but did not convert.

Klopp claimed that his discussion was regarding a free-kick and why an open player was not found.

The German was quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying:

“I spoke about a free-kick – the last one.

“Mo was standing wide and a whole bunch of players were in one the direction where we shot the ball.

“If he could have played in Mo on a one-on-one situation in the last minute of the game it would have been not too bad. It was only about the free-kick, nothing else.”

The Reds had made eight changes to the starting line-up from the previous clash and we should field a stronger team at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Losing a game is never good and it will be important for us to send a strong message on Saturday. We lead the Premier League table by a couple of points and cannot afford to lose to the Blues.

Klopp must continue working hard on his tactics again and hopefully, we will continue our winning streak in the Premier League over the weekend.
