Liverpool suffered their second defeat in seven days as Napoli came out 1-0 winners in the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp’s team were poor at Stadio San Paolo and the damage could have been far greater. Lorenzo Insigne scored in the last minute of the game but the hosts had another effort come off the crossbar in the second half.

The Reds started with Naby Keita in place of Jordan Henderson but the Guinea midfielder was substituted within 20 minutes after suffering a back injury.

Liverpool were never in the game and didn’t register a shot on target against Carlo Ancelotti’s men. The Italian side were better than us in all aspects but it looked like we would hold on for a crucial point away from home.

That was not to happen as Insigne collected a low cross to slot home the winner and the Reds must prepare for another big tie at the weekend.

Klopp’s team face Manchester City in a top of the table clash on Sunday and if we play at this level, the Cityzens will easily win the game.

The manager was upset at the result and so were the fans. Some of them wanted changes in the team while a few believed a loss was coming given we haven’t hit top gear this season.
