James Milner could be out for a month due to the hamstring injury he picked up against Manchester City, according to the Daily Mail.
The Englishman started the game against his former club but had to be replaced within 30 minutes. Naby Keita came on in place of Milner and the game finished 0-0.
The report adds that the hamstring tear isn’t a serious one, but the Englishman could miss a number of games in October.
The midfielder would be ruled out of the clashes against Huddersfield and Cardiff City, while he wouldn’t be fit for the game against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League too.
Milner also posted on Twitter about the injury and hoped he would not be out for long.
Liverpool were a little lucky with the timing of the injury as it came just before the international break. The Reds don’t play for a couple of weeks, and the games after the break are easier than what we went through in the past 30 days.
The injury could give Jurgen Klopp an opportunity to rotate his squad and the next big clash for the Reds is the Premier League tie against Arsenal on 3 November.
