Harry Wilson has spoken about Jurgen Klopp’s text message after the Liverpool loanee scored an incredible goal against Manchester United.
Wilson joined Derby on loan at the start of the season and scored an outstanding free-kick at Old Trafford. The Rams knocked United out of the Carabao Cup on penalties, and the Welshman spoke about the goal and more ahead of the UEFA Nations League game against Spain.
The Liverpool youngster was quoted by the Metro as saying:
“I have been practising a bit and if I can hit one half as good as the other night [against United] I will be happy.
“I think the Liverpool fans enjoyed it… Jurgen Klopp messaged me after the United game.
“He said: ‘Fantastic free-kick, really great football’. It’s great to hear from the manager whose team you want to be in in the future.”
The free-kick was the equaliser in a tense match at Old Trafford. Derby were deserving of the win but needed penalties to overcome the Premier League side.
Wilson has a couple of goals for the Rams this season as they look to gain promotion from the Championship.
The 21-year-old added that manager Frank Lampard spoke with him before the move to Derby, and added how he has grown at the club.
Wilson is one of our brightest youngsters and with regular playing time at Derby, the Welshman could feature in our first-team plans next season.
