Liverpool are contemplating making a January bid for Aaron Ramsey, according to the Standard. The Arsenal star will be out of contract at the end of the season, meaning he can speak to non-English clubs in the January window.
Talks between Arsenal and Ramsey broke down last month and the club withdrew an offer for the Welshman, according to the report.
The Gunner has attracted interest from a trio of Serie A clubs but wants to remain in England as his family is well-settled in London, according to the Standard.
The report claims that senior figures at the London club believe Liverpool or Manchester United would try to take advantage of the contract situation, with the Reds considered favourites to make a move.
Jurgen Klopp saw a bid for Nabil Fekir fail in the summer and the report claims the Frenchman could cost more than £50million to restart talks. Ramsey would cost only half of that amount, given he only has six months left on his deal, as per the report.
Liverpool are third in the Premier League but haven’t looked as sharp as they did last season. The report adds that Klopp is an admirer of the 27-year-old and we would be able to increase his current weekly wage of £110,000.
The Reds did sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from the Gunners last season and bringing Ramsey in the winter window could be the catalyst to get our midfield going again.

The Welshman might not be a sure-shot starter as Liverpool have options in the midfield but he would be another quality signing under Klopp.
