Cagliari want at least €50m for rising star Nicolo Barella, according to La Nuova (h/t Calciomercato).
The Italian is having a great season with the Serie A team and even made his debut for the national side against Ukraine recently.
The 21-year-old has played eight league games this season and has a goal to his name. The report adds that Liverpool are interested in the midfielder but face competition from a number of Italian clubs.
AC and Inter Milan are keeping an eye on the talented midfielder with Gennaro Gattuso being a big fan of the 21-year-old, as per the report.
The report further claims that negotiations will be difficult with Cagliari. The president of the club, Tommaso Giulini, has set the minimum asking price at €50m.
Liverpool have numerous options for their midfield and it is interesting that we are being linked with another midfielder.
The Reds signed Fabinho and Naby Keita in the summer. Furthermore, we have James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum all fighting for a starting berth.
Barella was linked with a move to Anfield in the summer (h/t Metro) despite the Reds signing four players in the summer.
