Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge is all set for a new contract at Anfield, according to the Mirror. The Englishman has managed to revive his Anfield career this season and after struggling his way through injuries, it does feel like the striker deserves a new contract.

He moved to West Brom on loan last season and made just six appearances as an injury cut his game time short. However, he now seems to have convinced Jurgen Klopp of his qualities.

The 29-year-old has scored 4 goals for us this season so far and seems to have put his injury woes behind. He is turning out to be an asset for us and it is great that he’s doing it.

Despite showing promise, the report claims that the terms of the new contract would be based on his appearances as there are worries regarding his long-term fitness.

Sturridge has been impactful this season for Liverpool, with his screamer against Chelsea being an example. We’d benefit a lot if the attacker keeps performing on the pitch as he’s an immensely talented player.

After 142 appearances and 68 goals for the Reds, a new contract for Sturridge would be apt but only if he manages to stay fit for a lengthy period of time.

We’ll have to wait to see if Sturridge ends up receiving an extension on his current £140,000-a-week deal at the club.
