Jurgen Klopp Liverpool

Liverpool kept their sixth clean sheet from nine Premier League games after their 1-0 win over Huddersfield.

We haven’t played high octane football this season and our attack isn’t banging in the goals for fun. However, Jurgen Klopp had his own take on our style and was quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying:

“It’s developmental. You have to develop, of course.

“We were 1-0 up and then we defended in a different space.

“Last year our big strength was high pressing and then when there were moments when they didn’t play football, it was like ‘sorry’.

“It’s like a dog – if you don’t give him his favourite toy and you throw something else he thinks: ‘No, I don’t want that, I want the other one, I want to play high press.’”

The German added that the team is developing and wanted the midfield to be better in pressing. Klopp claimed that our play with the ball was the only problem in the win over the Terriers.

Liverpool’s defence has been incredible this season and the addition of Alisson has helped us. The Brazilian has only conceded three goals in the league while Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez have been excellent at the back.

Our next game is against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League, and it would not be a surprise if we end up with another clean sheet against the Serbian side.
