Trent Alexander-Arnold is willing to fight for his place in the Liverpool team. The English youngster was dropped for our biggest game of the season so far against Manchester City, and didn’t start in the 1-0 win over Huddersfield.
Joe Gomez started both games as the right-back but Alexander-Arnold was sure his time would come. The youngster was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying:
“It will take time and a lot of hard work, so it’s just a case of being patient.
“It’s a world-class club and there is competition for places.
“It’s wrong if you go into a game and think you’re starting week in and week out. It’s only right that there’s rotation. Keeping people on their toes is the best way to get the best out of people.”
The youngster had an incredible last season and helped Liverpool to the Champions League final. Although we lost to Real Madrid, Trent’s summer continued as he flew to the World Cup with the Three Lions.
Alexander-Arnold could not believe how well things have gone and expects more to come. The youngster further added that the Champions League is the perfect place to showcase his talents, and claims the loss to Madrid will help the team get better.
“Obviously, we got beaten by Real Madrid (in last season’s final) but we took things away from that and used it as motivation for this season.”
