Jurgen Klopp is not putting pressure on his team to score bucket-loads of goals. Liverpool beat Cardiff City 4-1, however, our goal difference is inferior to that of Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s men have a goal difference of +23 even before they play Tottenham on Monday. Should they win the game, the Cityzens will move ahead of us because of their superior goal difference.

Liverpool are at +16 in the GD column but Klopp wasn’t thinking about this factor now. The German was quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying:

“At this stage it makes no sense to think about things like that.

“You have to score as often as possible. On Saturday we have plus three but you can never lose respect for the other team.

“Of course, you want more and we will have games where we score more if we are greedy. Now we have two games in a row where we have scored four (having beaten Red Star Belgrade 4-0 in the Champions League in midweek) and that is pretty special.”

The German added that scoring a ton of goals would not happen every week. However, Liverpool had a chance of doing the same if they played well.

The Reds haven’t been as sharp this season as the last one, but Klopp claimed that the team is trying to create such “moments” where they score in every situation.

The German was quick to claim that he wasn’t putting pressure on the players and was more interested in getting the points on the board.

“You don’t have to put pressure on them. First, we have to collect the most points and if we can do that then everything is fine. If not, we have to think differently.”
