Iker Muniain

Liverpool are interested in Athletic Bilbao star Iker Muniain, according to Marca (h/t Liverpool Echo).

The 25-year-old can play in midfield or as a winger and has scored four goals from nine La Liga matches this season.

The report adds that the Reds, and Napoli, are interested in the Spaniard. The pair will submit pre-contract offers for the Bilbao man as he is available on a free at the end of the season.

Muniain was one of the best players in the Spanish league a few years ago and would make an excellent free signing for Liverpool.

Currently, the Reds boast a lot of quality in their attack with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino amongst the goals recently.

Xherdan Shaqiri has done well since signing from Stoke City, and the Reds have a plethora of options for their midfield too.

Liverpool could do with an attacking midfielder in the team as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is out for a while, and Muniain could fill that role.

The 25-year-old would certainly have a few suitors keeping a track of his movements in the winter window, and it will be interesting to see if we do make a move for the Spaniard.

Liverpool should look to add more quality to their side in the winter window, and if we can sign Muniain, it would be another quality signing under Jurgen Klopp.
