Liverpool didn’t get Nabil Fekir in the summer window but the Frenchman is willing to leave Lyon in the summer, according to L’Equipe (h/t Express).
The French attacker was close to joining us in the summer, but the move fell through due to fitness concerns, as per the report.
The attacker went on to win the World Cup with France and stuck with Lyon this season. The report claims that Bayern Munich and Chelsea are keeping tabs on the 25-year-old.
The Frenchman has a contract at Lyon till 2020 but admitted that talks over a new deal haven’t progressed.
The attacker was quoted by the Express saying:
“What happened with Liverpool is straight out of my head, I turned the page.
“We must not stop at this, we must move forward. There are things that must be accepted.
“My future? We have not discussed an extension yet, we will see what happens.”
The Reds have missed an attacking midfielder in a number of games this season, and some Liverpool fans were certain that we should go for the Frenchman after our recent results.
Another one for Fekir tonight. Needed at our club #LFC

Buy Fekir @LFC

Sickening every time I see Fekir score a goal. To know he wanted #LFC and Lyon were ready to sell as it was 100% Liverpool backing out at the last minute. Frustrating.

Fekir wouldn’t have just giving us creativity in midfield, he also would add a crazy number of goals and help the front three… But Herr Klopp happened. 🤷

Right now, the Fekir failure looks big.

Fekir scores yet again 1-0 Lyon
He is on fire again tonight

People will disagree but i dont think this deal is dead. Unless the medical showed horrific results which we don’t know, the main problem was Aulas & him not budging on the fee. Fekir wants to sign for Lfc & more importantly Klopp wants him.👌🏻

We still need to sign Nabil Fekir in January

We also miss Coutinho and really could have done with Fekir
