Sevilla are contemplating a move for Alberto Moreno as the Spaniard’s contract comes to an end in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The 26-year-old joined Liverpool from the Spanish side but has failed to become a regular starter under Jurgen Klopp.
Andy Robertson is our first choice left-back and Moreno has only three starts to his name this season. The Spaniard will be free to talk to foreign clubs in January, but the report claims that Liverpool would want to make some money rather than lose him on a free.
The report adds that the left-back could be keen on returning to his former side and there is interest from other clubs too. However, Sevilla have a decision to make as they are unsure about waiting till the summer.
Moreno has struggled for consistency ever since he joined the Reds under Brendan Rodgers’ tenure. He was partly at fault for us losing to his former side in the Europa League final a few years ago and has never hit the heights he did with the La Liga club.
Selling him for a few million wouldn’t be all that bad given that we have someone of Robertson’s quality. As long as there is a decent back-up to the Scottish defender, losing the Spaniard would not hurt us.
