Former Liverpool star John Aldridge believes we should raid Fulham for a couple of their stars. The Cottagers performed really well in their 2-0 loss at Anfield on Sunday with Ryan Sessegnon impressing early on.

The English youngster had a great chance to open the scoring but just shot past the post. Aldridge was writing for the Liverpool Echo and claimed we should make a move for the attacker.

“Andy Robertson has been an absolute revelation since he came to Anfield and solved the long-standing left-back issue but I’d still like Liverpool to reignite their interest in Ryan Sessegnon who can play in that position but was being deployed further up the left flank against the Reds.”

The former Red acknowledged that there are a number of clubs interested in Sessegnon, but believed he would be a useful player for us.

The other Fulham man that caught Aldo’s attention was Aleksandar Mitrovic. The Serbian thought he had opened the scoring in the first half but his goal was ruled offside.

The Serbian has experience of playing in the Premier League with Newcastle, and Aldo added Mitrovic’s physical presence would be great for the Reds.

“I was also impressed with Aleksandar Mitrovic. He’s the type of player you’d want coming off the bench, he’s big, strong and scores goals.

He gives you something that little bit different and I like him as a squad player.”

Mitrovic could be a cheap signing given Fulham aren’t doing well but Sessegnon would certainly cost a bit.

It is also interesting of Aldo to mention that we need a striker that can be physical, as we don’t normally play that kind of game.
