Liverpool are interested in signing 18-year-old Jean-Clair Todibo from Toulouse, according to Tuttosport (h/t Express).

The 18-year-old hasn’t signed a professional contract with the Ligue 1 club and could move on a free at the end of the season, according to the report.

The central defender is one of the highest rated players in the French system, and can also play as a defensive midfielder.

Todibo only made his debut for the French club this season and has gone on to play 10 games with one goal.

The report adds that many clubs are keeping an eye on the rising talent. French giants Lyon, Bundesliga pair RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, and Juventus are all interested in the 18-year-old.

The Reds have signed a few players on free deals with Dominic Solanke, Alex Manninger and Joel Matip during Jurgen Klopp’s tenure at the club.

Todibo could be a smart signing from the side and we have provided chances to young players under our manager.

Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold are doing extremely well this season while the likes of Ryan Kent, Ben Woodburn and Harry Wilson are waiting in the wings to play for the first-team.
