Liverpool could play their huge Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain in an empty stadium as UEFA could slap the French club with disciplinary action, according to L’Equipe (h/t Liverpool Echo).

The Reds are second in their group, and a win over their French rivals would see them qualify for the next round.

We lost our last game against Red Star, and need to better performance once we return to action in a couple of weeks.

The report claims UEFA’s Disciplinary Committee will meet on 22 November to discuss incidents that took place between the supports of the French club and those of Red Star in October.

The sanctions that PSG could face is a partial or complete closure of the home ground. The report adds that this is unlikely given that the Reds have been handed 2,000 tickets for the game.

A special inspector will report his findings from the clash between the fans on Thursday before a decision is taken on what happens to PSG.

Red Star fans were banned from the game in Paris, however, some still made it to the ground, and there were clashes between the supporters inside and outside, as per the report.

It will be interesting to see what kind of sanctions are hit on PSG. Getting the three points in Paris will be important as we would not want to keep our Champions League hopes for the final day.
