Sadio Mane has six Premier League goals to his name this season but Jurgen Klopp has hinted at playing the Senegalese in a deeper position.
The former Southampton winger starts as a left-winger for the Reds on most occasions, and Klopp praised the growth of the attacker at Liverpool.
The German told Premier League Productions (h/t Mirror):
“Since he came in he helped the team so much, he improved so much. He is an outstanding offensive player.
“If you ask me if he is a striker, yes, from time to time; is he a midfielder, yes, from time to time; he can probably play a slightly deeper position as well – we don’t have to play him there because we have other players there but he could play it as well.”
Klopp further listed out what makes Mane such a good player.
“He is physically strong, technically strong, he is unbelievably quick, he is quick in mind as well, and he is a good shooter with both feet. That makes a good player and he is a fantastic person.”
The Senegal attacker is one of the best in the Premier League and has only gotten better with each season under his belt.
This campaign hasn’t seen us rip teams apart with our attack, but we are second in the Premier League and haven’t tasted defeat in the competition.

Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino could certainly make things easier for Liverpool in games if their finishing improves. Hopefully, we will see a sharper and more lethal Liverpool once the international break is done.
