Fabinho Liverpool

It has barely been a few months into the season and some reports (h/t Mirror) suggest that Liverpool are to sell one of their summer signings.

Fabinho signed for the Reds from Monaco at the start of the season, but reports (h/t Mirror) claim that the Brazilian will be sold to help fund a move for Christian Pulisic.

The American is an amazing player and someone that Jurgen Klopp knows very well, however, it is a little surprising that Fabinho is the player being linked with a move.

The Reds have started the season well and are second in the league, but selling the Brazilian at this point doesn’t really make a lot of sense.

The 25-year-old needs time to adjust and it isn’t like Klopp to discard a player after a few months.

Granted Fabinho has looked a little slow compared to Premier League standards, but he was good in our 4-0 win over Red Star Belgrade and seemed to do well in the 2-0 triumph over Fulham.

The Brazilian seems to be following the story of another player from last season to adjust to the league.

Andy Robertson barely got a game for the Reds during the initial months of last season. The Scot needed to learn how we played, but once he got in, there has been no stopping him.

Similar to Robertson, we are seeing the best of some players after spending more time under Klopp. Georginio Wijnaldum and James Milner are two examples of that, and it is difficult seeing us drop either of them in our first-team.

This is another problem for Fabinho, he can’t get regular minutes in the team to get better. Liverpool are stacked with midfield talent and even Naby Keita is finding it tough to get regular minutes.

Klopp stood by Loris Karius for two complete seasons before deciding to send him to Turkey.

The manager isn’t someone who makes a call quickly and there is no doubt Fabinho will stay at the club for a while.

If Liverpool want to make a statement signing in the winter window with Pulisic, the Reds should have the money to spend. After all, FSG broke the bank in bringing Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Keita and Fabinho this season.

The 25-year-old was one of the key components in Monaco’s Ligue 1 win a few years ago, and in a team with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Bernardo Silva, Fabinho was still important.

Liverpool have a quality player that will prove his ability, we just need to give him time.
