Paul Joyce from the Times claims that Barcelona have to pay an additional €100m over any transfer fee if they want another Liverpool player.

Philippe Coutinho moved to Barcelona in January for a fee of £142m and the clause was added by Michael Edwards when sealing the deal.

Joyce added that the Catalans would have to pay the extra amount if they want to sign a Liverpool player before 2020.

Losing Coutinho was a bit of a blow for the Reds in the winter window, but it seems we still got a brilliant deal from all this.

While it doesn’t keep Barcelona from moving for a Liverpool player, at least we will get a premium for anyone we sell to the La Liga giants.

A number of Liverpool fans loved the inclusion of this clause and praised Edwards for his doing on Twitter.
