Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge has warned the Reds about the threat Watford possess. Liverpool go into the game against the Hornets unbeaten in the Premier League and have a tough tie against Paris Saint-Germain after this game.
Watford are an unpredictable side and did beat Tottenham at Vicarage Road earlier in the season. The Hornets are seventh in the league and Aldridge believed the home side could be a tough outing similar to our game against Red Star Belgrade.
The former Red wrote for the Liverpool Echo (h/t Daily Star):
“It’s a real banana skin for Liverpool at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
“Watford have had a decent start to the season and they will have seen what Red Star Belgrade did to us a few weeks ago.
“We got out-fought over there and Watford will try to do the same.”
Aldridge added that the Reds have to be ready for a physical battle and cannot afford any slip-ups in the coming weeks.
“They’re a big, strong team and will try to overpower us. We can’t allow that to happen.
“We’ve had a great start to the season but this period now is absolutely crucial.”
Liverpool are unbeaten in the Premier League after 12 games and boast a fantastic defence. The Reds have conceded just five goals in the league and we have to be wary of the attack that Watford have.
The Hornets do have some players that can catch us out and with another big clash in midweek coming up, Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp have to bring their A-game in the coming days.
