Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson is in contention for a start against Watford on Saturday, according to the Evening Standard.
The Liverpool captain didn’t play in England’s 2-1 win over Croatia in the Nations League due to a reoccurrence of a hamstring issue.
England manager Gareth Southgate was quoted by the Evening Standard
saying:“Jordan has been carrying a bit of an injury.
“He had some game time the other night but wasn’t fully happy with it.
“He’s somebody who always wants to play and in the end I had to take a decision. In these games you’ve got to be clear in your mind and perfectly happy.”
The 28-year-old hasn’t always been in the starting XI this season thanks to the form of James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum. Fabinho has been a decent signing for the Reds and has allowed Jurgen Klopp to switch between a 4-2-3-1 and a 4-3-3.
Henderson coming back to fitness will be a huge boost to the side as we also have a big game to play against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.
Watford will not be an easy clash but the Reds need to keep winning in both the league and in Europe. We trail Manchester City by a couple of points and a win over PSG will ensure we make it into the next round of the Champions League.
