Former Liverpool star Robbie Fowler has claimed that the Reds have been poor in Europe.
The former England striker was writing in his column in the Daily Mirror (h/t Express) and wanted Liverpool to get a positive result from the trip to Paris.
“It’s not absolutely vital (beating PSG on Wednesday).
“They can still qualify if they lose, but then beat Napoli.
“Yet, for many reasons, getting something against PSG would be a massive lift for the Reds – not least because they have been rubbish away from home in Europe so far this season!”
The Reds lost both their away games in the Champions League with a couple of really poor performances. Losing to Napoli wasn’t that bad but the result against Red Star was worse.
Beating PSG would ensure we qualify into the next round and it will be important to have a great performance in the French capital.
The Reds weren’t at their best against Watford, but we eked out a decent 3-0 win with the team stepping up on the second half.
Fowler is spot on regarding our poor performances in Europe, and we haven’t looked like the side from last season in the Champions League.

However, with Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah doing well at Vicarage Road, we could come out with a point on Wednesday.
